Angry Birds Ar: Isle of Pigs is the latest installment of the legendary mobile game. It was released in 2019. Presents a sequel to the story of the Angry Birds who rescue the stolen eggs. This part is not like the previous ones. This time, each level will be set in virtual reality. You will have to use your mobile phone camera to play, because the action will take place in the real world.
What’s so interesting?
Transition to AR completely changed the standard Angry Birds “formula” to which many players are accustomed. Humans will be able to choose any position to attack, including launching birds at long range. To begin with, it will be necessary to determine where the pigs will be placed. It will be possible to choose almost any surface, such as a table, a bed, the pavement outside and more.
Before launching the bird, it will be possible to examine the structure of the elements and weaknesses in detail. This can be done by zooming in on the mobile phone camera or even by walking around the area. It is especially fun to play outside or at least in a spacious room. If not, a normal table will do.
Some things in the game have not changed. You’ll have to shoot birds with a slingshot: the explosive Bomb, the speedy Chuck and Red. Each level will provide three birds in a specific sequence, which cannot be changed.
To make the bird fly into the enemy, you’ll need to pull the slingshot and adjust the flight path. After aiming, release the bird and track its flight. You can activate special skills by touching the phone screen.
If the birds run out and at least one more pig survives, the player will be prompted to open a promotional video. Watching it will give the player an extra bird. There are hints in the menu, which are worth using if you can’t make it through the level.
Points will be awarded for destroyed boards and boxes, saved birds, destroyed pigs. At the end a person will be awarded stars: from one to three. It is advisable to aim for the best possible result. For each star a coin is given, and it will be spent on opening new chapters with levels. There are 4 chapters in total, each with 13 levels. On the last one there is a battle with a strong boss.
Important moments in the game
If you bring the camera close to the bird, it will start giving emotions like greeting a person or dancing. At other times they will not stand still. Characters are able to gesticulate and can also look around.
Each time the game is started, the gamer will have to choose a flat surface. On it will unfold levels. To do this is not difficult, you will only have to point the camera at the appropriate object and confirm the choice. To adjust the scale of the game, a person must depart from the chosen location or move closer.
There are situations where virtual objects can disappear or become distorted. If this happens, the environment must be reselected and a scan must be carried out. The problem should go away at once.
The game is free; there are no in-app purchases. Ads are present, and they appear once every few levels. It is possible to run the application without internet access. In this case, no ads will be shown.
Angry Birds AR: Isle of Pigs gives a lot of emotions, because it is something new and unusual. It’s the kind of game you want to play to the end.
