My friend pedro: ripe for revenge. Platformer review

PC game My friend pedro: ripe for revenge probably will not become a cult and legendary, but it has its fans. Of course, unlike epochal scale shooters and strategies, this game will not seat a gamer at the monitor for a few hours or even days. But still, this strange game has its own charm and its own charm.

It’s the kind of game that you come back to after finishing it, as you feel irrational nostalgia, when you want to play it again without any particular motivation. You just want to.

Fans of the game probably wouldn’t have minded if the developers had released a sequel or a new version. But instead the world got a new version of the game for mobile devices.

The plot of Ripe for revenge is the same as in the PC version. Continuing through 36 levels of driving and bloody madness, the dialogue between the nameless protagonist and the talking banana begins. The latter asks the protagonist for help in finding his relatives. And the extravaganza begins.

Gameplay difference between mobile and PC versions

The gameplay of the mobile version is not particularly different from that of the PC version. The control system is simple and easy to learn. During duels, each enemy must be destroyed before the timeline disappears around him. Otherwise the enemy’s shot can be fatal to the hero.

As in the desktop version the protagonist has to overcome a lot of obstacles and during the duels use unusual for such cases items like a frying pan as a defence.

Disadvantages of mobile platformer My friend pedro

The main disadvantage of Ripe for revenge is the lack of fascinating graphics, which enthralled fans of the desktop version. This is especially noticeable in the scenes where the protagonist rides a motorbike. In these fragments, the graphics are simply awful. Such a serious flaw is partially compensated by the porting almost one-to-one into the mobile version of the excellent soundtrack of the PC version. There are also fun scenarios for the game’s levels, and the ability to change the weaponry available to the protagonist.

But there is a drawback to this game that, unfortunately, is not compensated for by anything, nor can it be. This flaw: outrageously short levels. The developers offer bloody and crazy extravaganza that attracts you so much, that you get into the taste of it, and then you get mad when the level finishes before it has even started. The whole game can be completed in an hour and a half, and it’s an obscenely short time for such a “lame-ass” action.

Conclusion of My friend pedro: ripe for revenge

My friend pedro: ripe for revenge – conditionally free game, that is, the user can install it, pass the first levels, and only then decide whether to buy the game as a whole. Many people are limited to the free version. After passing the initial levels, they often find the original game for PC and pass it in its entirety has a desktop version. In terms of gameplay, there are, of course, no fundamental differences. But the desktop version is incommensurably more spectacular than the mobile version.
